The inaugural edition of Europe's 50 Best Bars was announced in Amsterdam, marking a historic milestone for the Greek bar community. Not only because several Greek bars were ranked among Europe's finest, but because, for the first time, Greece has reached the very top of one of the industry's most prestigious international rankings.
Line was named the No.1 Bar in Europe, while The Bar in Front of the Bar secured the No.2 position, confirming Athens as one of the world's leading cocktail capitals.

The Greek presence did not end there. A total of six bars from Greece were included in Europe's Top 50, alongside two Greek-owned bars based in Austria and Switzerland:
These results represent far more than a collection of individual accolades. Just a few years ago, Greece was widely regarded as one of the rising forces in global bartending. Today, Athens stands at the top of Europe, while Thessaloniki's presence on the list confirms that the growth of the Greek bar scene is no longer concentrated in a single city.
Behind this achievement lies years of consistent work by bartenders, bar owners and hospitality professionals who have invested in education, creativity and collaboration. It is the result of a community that continues to evolve, exchange knowledge and actively contribute to the international conversation around modern bartending.
Throughout this journey, events such as Athens Bar Show and Salonica Bar Show have helped create an environment where education, knowledge sharing and networking are fundamental drivers of progress for the Greek bar community. The continuous presence of leading professionals from around the world, the exchange of ideas and the exposure to international trends have all contributed to establishing Greece as a global reference point for contemporary bartending.
These distinctions belong first and foremost to the bars themselves and the teams behind them. At the same time, they represent recognition of the remarkable journey of the Greek bar scene, which has demonstrated over recent years that it is not only capable of keeping pace with international developments, but also of helping shape them.
